Do I have to stay for a full year in Japan, or is it possible for a shorter duration?

You can stay for a maximum of one year, legally working remunerated jobs. However, you can shorten your stay if you would like. Please consider that you can only get a Working Holiday Visa in Japan once in a lifetime.

Some nationalities are only allowed to stay for a maximum of 180 days in Japan on a Working Holiday Visa.
