How much freedom will I have when staying with a host family in Nicaragua?

Usually, your room has a private entrance from the patio, and you'll have two keys, one for the patio and one for your room. You can live quite independently of the family if you wish. Alternatively, you can maintain a closer relationship with the family and thus practice your Spanish-speaking skills.

It is not allowed for individuals who do not rent a room to visit or stay overnight without the consent of the host family.
