# What is the sequence of steps to take for a Working Holiday in Japan?

Ideally, it works as follows:

1. **Booking**: You book your trip with us - even if your exact arrival date isn't set yet. You can let us know the date later, along with optional extras (e.g., language classes or pre-arranged jobs) and your desired accommodation.
2. **Visa Appointment**: Schedule an appointment at the Japanese embassy or consulate in your country to apply for the visa. This isn't always necessary, but some embassies/consulates, like the one in France, have long waiting times.
3. **Book Flight**: Book your flight to Japan. You will need to submit a booking confirmation when applying for your visa.
4. **Health Insurance**: Get international health insurance. We recommend [Caremed](https://www.work-and-travel-insurance.com/caremed/000076/get-a-quote) for this.
5. **Prepare Visa Application Documents**: You prepare the documents for your visa application. We will help you with this by providing five short video guides and reviewing your documents before you submit them.
6. **Apply for Visa**: You apply for the visa by submitting your application to the embassy or consulate. Processing usually takes 2 to 3 weeks.
7. **Receive Visa**: Congratulations, you have received your visa!
8. **Finalize Details**: Confirm your accommodation preferences and all other details with us.
9. **Arrival**: You travel to Japan. 🎉

You can also book with us if you have already completed some steps (e.g., your flight is already booked or you already have your visa). A booking is even possible if you are already in Japan on a Working Holiday Visa.
